ICs feature an advanced control engine, which seamlessly adjusts
switching frequency and energy per cycle to optimize efficiency, even at
light loads—up to 87% efficient at 1% load. This allows power supplies
to provide up to 220 mW output in standby for display, controls, and
communications functions, while meeting the needs of appliance
manufacturers subject to the European Union ErP-mandated 300 mW standby
power consumption limit.

devices are available in through-hole packaging for maximum output
power and surface-mount packaging for heatsink-free designs with PCB
cooling. The surface-mount option also includes an enhanced thermal
package that enables up to 75 W output without a heatsink. In addition,
line under- and over-voltage protection ensures robustness for use in
areas with unstable mains supply.
