High-speed PCB primer for SATA, PCIe, USB 2.0 and HDMI: In this
presentation we'll go over high-speed printed circuit board concerns in
more detail. If your design includes SATA, PCIe, USB 2.0, or HDMI, come
see how these interfaces are supposed to be done in the PCB layout and
learn why.
FREE TI StarterWare enables quick and simple programming
Customized for each device, TI's new StarterWare software packages
simplify the ARM MPU, C6000 DSP and DSP+ARM development process.
Offering application programming interfaces to configure and optimize
peripherals, as well as a low-level platform support kit, which
includes a peripheral driver library, graphics library, lightweight USB
and network stacks, code examples and applications notes, StarterWare

Application Note: Simple Power Solution Using LDOs for C674x/OMAP-L1x
Processors
This reference design helps those desiring to design-in the
TMS320C6742, TMS320C6746, TMS320C6748, and OMAP-L132/L138 processors.
This design, employing sequenced power supplies, describes a system
with an input voltage of 3.3 V, and uses LDOs for a small, simple
system. Sequenced power supply architectures are becoming commonplace
in high-performance microprocessor and digital signal processor (DSP)
systems. To save power and increase processing speeds, processor cores
have smaller geometry cells and require lower supply voltages than the
system bus voltages. Power management in these systems requires special
attention. This application report addresses these topics and suggests
solutions for output voltage sequencing.

Improving Common-Mode Rejection Using the Right-Leg Drive Amplifier
This article discusses the need to improve common-mode rejection (CMR)
in electrocardiogram (ECG) subsystem applications. Several different
techniques to improve CMR while also considering both patient and
operator safety are presented. This report also reviews the
implementation of the right-leg drive (RLD) loop technique to improve
CMR using the ADS129x family of ADCs (including the ADS1298/96/94 and
the ADS1198/96/94) and the corresponding performance results.

Power Tip 38: Simple Latch Circuit Protects Power Supplies
In this Power Tip Robert Kollman discuses how simple latch circuits
protect power suppliers
PMU for Active-Shutter 3D Glasses and Low-Power Consumer Devices
The TPS65735/835 power management unit integrates all power functions
needed in 3D glasses applications using Li-Ion batteries. The tiny
package can be easily integrated into the glasses frame, making 3D
glasses that are very light and comfortable.
C5000 Ultra Low Power DSP:
--------------------------
Ask the Expert: Paul Wiley
How will TI's C553x ultra-low-power DSPs reduce system cost? Paul
Wiley, systems and design manager for the C5000 ultra-low-power DSP
business at Texas Instruments, highlights the main methods that the
C553x ultra-low-power DSPs reduce customers' system costs. From
offering the lowest-cost DSP on the market at less than $2 to
integrating digital and analog peripherals, Paul explains how OEMs can
now make quality devices at unprecedented ultra-low price points.
Application Report: Using the TMS320C5535/34/33/32 Bootloader
This document describes the features of the on-chip ROM for the
TMS320C5535/34/33/32 digital signal processors. Included is a
description of the bootloader and how to interface with it for each of
the possible boot devices, as well as instructions for generating a
boot image to store on an external device.

Level-Translating I2C Bus Repeater
The TCA9509 enables I2C and similar bus systems to be extended without
degradation of performance, even during level-shifting. It can also
provide bidirectional voltage-level translation (up-translation/down-
translation) between low voltages (down to 1.0V) and higher voltages
(2.7V to 5.5V) in mixed-mode applications.
